Ar'Vayn
"It is rare to find a temple to any god so well attended and maintained in these modern times. I suppose it is fitting though that Ar'Vayn is a pillar of Galdarion's empire considering that which is worshipped there." - from the memoirs of Lewin Von Treet, Vault: the Land of Stuff and Things
A temple to Thrax, the Creation God of Death, Ar'Vayn is one of the few temples in Vault still at the height of its power. With Thrax being one of the few gods to emerge from the Constellation War more powerful than he began, its logical that an empire built on the backs of the undead have a temple dedicated to him.
It is said that Galdarion herself frequents Ar'Vayn (elven for eternal silence) to worship for days at a time. The temple, seated deep in the necrotic forest, gives off a ghastly pale light and is kept by undead giants, the pride of Eve Galdarion's creations. To gaze upon it is to contemplate your own demise, and find comfort in it. Many are those who have come to Ar'Vayn seeking solace in their inevitable deaths only to serve the rest of their natural lives within its walls, happy and purposeful.
The domain of death from the perspective of Thrax is often violent. He adores collecting the emotional turmoil of death, feeding on the power of regret, loss, anguish, and sorrow.
To this end, Ar'Vayn encourages the mournful to come and worship there. And some speak of darker activities, where mourning is created rather than found. While unconfirmed, some say Ar'Vayn is a place where murder is acceptable and encouraged due to the high emotional state surrounding killing. If the lore of Thrax is to be believed, both his natural and adopted mothers align with such theories and make the rumors believable.
There are a few living clerics and disciples within Ar'Vayn's halls. High Cleric Gothlim leads the temple in daily sacrifices and prayer. Sorrow Mother Rosalina meditates with those who feel heavy emotions surrounding death, both their own and that of their loved ones, and helps channel that energy to Thrax. Galdarion has her own private mourning chambers, and it is said communes directly with Thrax during her days of fasting there.
