Watching the rot spread up the lighthouse towards Tal'Tal Aah and her nest, the group raced to the spot, realizing Lyla's riddle may also be referring to a bird.

Inside the lighthouse, they found a pool of crystal blue water which seemed to have some manner of innate energy, and a group of creatures created from the rot that were all attempting to get into that pool.

The Students fought off the creatures through clever use of Ridley's shape water spell and the fear inducing visage of Otho, as well as Gwenna's precision and an army of bears from Brynn.

After the battle, they noticed a group of ostensible relic hunters lying around the pool, all dead save for one, who called for "mercy." Ridley was able to heal the elven woman and she immediately warned they were all in danger, pointing to a ceiling covered in boulder sized rot postules.

At that moment, Lyla's sister entered saying, "You couldn't leave well enough alone," and slammed her hand into the wall, causing the ceiling to begin to come down on the group.
