Tough As Dirt #28
Funeral for a Friend
06/21/2024
Tough As Dirt made their way down the River Still through Galdarion Forest in an effort to put some distance between themselves and Ar'Vayn, as well as find a decent spot to set Brother Moor's body down
The cook they'd saved from the Parliament's torture chamber back in Othrund seemed to have come to his senses somewhat and helped with getting the Gateway Clipper underway
Yella, in his grief, was feeling lost but a conversation with Winslow helped him internalize some of what was happening, and reaffirmed his commitment to the crew, seeing the group as a bunch of young kids in need of an old dwarf like him
Along the way down the river, the group encountered Naukar, a boatman on a barge filled with dead bodies, which seemed to not be altogether dead
When questioned, he claimed he was taking the bodies to "throw onto a pile" far to the south in his homeland of Jawhara, in order to keep whatever was buried beneath the bodies from escaping.
The group found this an innocent enough endeavor and allowed him to go along his way without interference.
Eventually the group made their way out into the Kindred Sea and gave the body of Brother Moor to the ocean after a tearful farewell from all present.
The group sailed to the Ropeway on the southern shores of Core Vandal in order to find some rest and plan their next move with the Divinaxiom.
