Tough As Dirt #10
Bones and Tomes
03/18/2023
Tough As Dirt arrived in Cypress and were met at the Filotimo Gates by a member of the Tidal Guard riding a Quetzal who asked to see their Papers of Populace, which everyone was able to produce, either through legal means or convincing forgeries
Upon docking, Cookeg bid goodbye to the crew, paid their docking fees, and paid for their resupply on his way out
Dahlia and Lily, the necromantic sisters, claimed they'd be fine walking to Megalon from Cypress, but Gideon insisted the crew of the Gateway Clipper accompany them on their quest to the Lizardfolk city
There were errands to run in Cypress however, starting with needing to find a fish tank for Moray the eel found in the holy site a few days prior
Ricco, Brother Moore, and Winslow found their way to Madame Cicero's, a private collection of sea creatures in questionable repair and even more questionable efficacy
Enrico, the Madame's butler, helped the crew pick out a tank fit for the eel and Ricco managed to swipe some jewelry on his way out
Meanwhile, Gideon and Babbitt found what passed for a library, a old boy's club with a lot of collector's editions of rare books protected by glass cases
The two found an old cellar where a treasure trove of old books were stored and began categorizing
Meanwhile, Varsmak bought some rum and got hired on to do some dockhand work delivering lumber to a forge owned by a halfling named Izzy
Varsmak discovered piled of bones in the forge and a neighbor who complained about screaming at night
Unfortunately Varsmak was unable to discover more than the pieces to a seeming confusing mystery, and returned to the ship after getting his pay from a dockmaster named Ward
Tough As Dirt regrouped at the Gateway Clipper where Dahlia rushed to tell the group that something significant had happened with the divine energies somewhere east of the Arrowheads, and she might be able to track it
