The Students of Life and Death delved deeper into Sinner's Peak, eventually discovering a Barrow Hawk nest on the slopes of the mountain side

• They followed a tunnel down from the nest, but lost Yjianna along the way, having been taken by a large Barrow Hawk at the nest

• The tunnel lead them to a ritual chamber with a pool of lava, where it seemed the Barrow Hawk eggs could hatch if the timing was right. 

  • Finally getting a look at a Barrow Hawk, Roach was able to turn into one and joined two others in creating a flight circle in the middle of the chamber, which caused a rift to form at the center of the circle of hawks

  • All three hawks, including Roach, disappeared and the rift closed

The group made their way out of the chamber and found themselves in a cell for prisoners of the Ignis people

They observed the group of Clifftop prisoners being brought into the Sinner's Peak ritual sacrifice chambers, and Val was able to pick the locks on the cage.

The group escaped and made plans to go after the prisoners, but before they could, Neverending arrived

• While most of the group hid, Otho took to the obsidian throne used by the leader of the Ignis, and Neverending assumed Otho was in charge

  • Neverending questioned Otho on the whereabouts of Abominate, but when he approached the throne where Otho sat, somtething came over him and he destroyed the throne, throwing Otho to the floor.
