Bogul's Bruisers Session #34
A Touch of Fell
09/23/2023
Harper, the Devil's Ear, approached the Bruisers about parting ways as they made their journey to the Phantom Plains to seek out Visuvius
The group asked if Harper could help influence the final location of the newly built Castle Avernus by suggesting a place where intercepting Azalin's teleport from Demon's Hollow would be easier.
The location they decided on was the Kindred Isle south of the Phantom Plains
Harper claimed he may be able to convince Azalin and Quazix'Ana to place the tower there if there were some proof he could bring them that the Shadowfell's presence was strong there
For this task, he'd need the proof and payment, which came in the form of one of the Raven Queen's feather from Jezria, which Harper claimed would give any individual who held it protection throughout the Shadowfell
Jezria's curse with the Shadowfell, which she received when she was brought low by a Shadow Dragon, was discussed as payment, as Harper claimed the curse could be removed, stored, and then sold. All this made Jezria wonder what was so special about the curse, so she focused on it.
Jezria soon realized she could open a portal to the Shadowfell at will with the curse, and it would have additional power in that plane
In the end, the agreed upon proof for Azalin was Jezria's arm, infused with Shadowfell power, which Harper could present as proof the Kindred Isle was powerful with the Fell, which would obviously be a lie
Bogul helped remove Jezria's arm, and what grew back with the Regenerate spell was shadow-flesh, an arm infused with dark fire
Harper left to try and convince the Dread Lord while Samoht tried to convince Jezria she could become a Dread Lady of the Shadowfell with all her newfound power
The gorup eventually got underway and arrived in the Phantom Plains to find Lyth, a tiefling guide who had gotten herself lost
They healed Lyth of some arcane magics causing her to believe no time had passed for the last 5 years, and she broke down, claiming her group had all died in the Phantom Plains, except for a firbolg named Toolip, who claimed he was communing with gods in some ruins nearby
Lyth guided them safely through the Plains to the place where Visuvius was rumored to be found
The group found a woman there, looking disheveled and tired, surrounded by three feral Tabaxi, who immediately attacked the group upon seeing them.
