Students of Life & Death #14

The Students made their way to the docks to find them overrun with Dawn Chasers, a far larger force than originally anticipated from what they'd seen in Wayward. The Dawn Chasers looked very much like a full army, which explained the tension at the docks of Trine between them and the peace-keeping force of the Tidal Guard

The group considered trying to catch a ride to Cypress with one of the ships the Dawn Chasers were loading with supplies and soldiers but during their search found a young woman by the name of Justis who was questioning her decision to leave home and join up with the Dawn Chasers

• The Students were able to help Justis calm herself and come to the conclusion that she was still the same motivated woman she was when she'd made her decisions. Justis donned her Dawn Chasers armor and reported in, bound for Cypress

Eventually the group found a ship called the Tip-Top, captained by a man named Terrence the Terror, who was adamant he needed a crew to save his friends who were lost in Ephemareldion Jungle.

• The Students convinced Terrence that the people he was looking for were, in fact, headed to Cypress, so he agreed to take the Students to the city across the Gossamer Sea

Before leaving, Gwenna ensured some old friends were watching her fathers in case the Saffron Society tried anything while she was gone

• Additionally, Gwenna did some digging to find out that Jihyo wanted to hire an assassin to kill a woman by the name of Jezria, leader of the Church of the Sacred Flame. Glad to know it wasn't personal for her, Gwenna was content to let sleeping dogs lie

Val did some more work on Goldcrest during their journey in the Tip-Top, which resulted in some more human-like behaviors from Goldcrest

A few days into the voyage, the Divinaxiom detected a small divine presence approaching from the northwest

• On lookout, the group saw a many-tentacled beast fast approaching the ship, apparently with a spark of divine energy
