Gaping Maw of Sound #31

The Gaping Maw of Sound arrived at Ropeway in south Core Vandal to rest up after their excursion to the elemental plane of fire. There they met a few people they spent time getting to know.

• A tortle named Salazar who ran the Ropeway and offered them shelter, food, and drink for the evening.

• A human named Stallion who was working the bar.

• A relic hunter group named the Tuumy Rumblers whose boat had been crushed by a giant whale monster, though they'd managed to retrieve a relic from within the whale: a glass ball that has an entire civilization living within it. They planned on selling it in Trine.

• A pair of Vadian "Devouts" who were harboring two small dragons in their boat docked in the harbor.

Upon overhearing the group had Pegasi roaming the docks outside during a dinner, the two Vadians exited in an attempt to retrieve their dragons and kill the Pegasi and the group.

• Oby followed them out and confronted them, and just as the scene seemed to devolve into violence, the group was able to explain they were not Wing Guard, despite riding on Pegasi, and that they'd taken the Pegasi from the Wing Guard of Caim, which seemed to not only placate but impress the Vadians.

With the conflict resolved, the group spent the night in Ropeway and left the nextr morning, bidding goodbye to their friends in the Tuumy Rumblers, Teem Tuum and an elven lording who seemed too rich for his own good.

• The relic hunters were catching a ride with a bargeman named Nauktar to Queen's Meet.

The group flew the rest of the way to the Kindred Isle and landed on its northern shore, above Torn's Rest, ready to seek out the next piece of the Sword of Tyr in Wilder.
