Star & Scale #1
Arrivals and Meetings
Zebedee and Eden boarded the Leatherback in the Devil's Eyes Island south of Vad in order to avoid suspicion while entering the country of Highcroft
Aboard the Leatherback, they met Captain Peg, a good-natured gnome who headed a crew who admired him, as well as Avalon, a Relic Hunter who decided to take the siblings under her wing specifically because they didn't care who she was despite her many fans and entourage aboard the boat.
When they arrived in Caim's Port, they received their Papers of Populace and became official citizens, but were pulled aside by soldiers at the immigration familiar.
In a side room, they were interrogated about their connection to Drakar in Vad, but Avalon stormed the room and got them out before the siblings got in too deep
They traveled with Avalon to Tyr's Gate, a small river inlet where she was meant to meet a friend.
Avalon went to search for her, leaving the two on the dock, and they ran afoul of a group of Owlbears.
The mysterious arrival of a metal being from the stars shocked the creatures as it impacted the ground, seemingly having come from the skies above
The three of the them fought off the Owlbears together, and Zeb and Eden tried to get to know the metal being, calling it "Friend" due to it only being able to speak certain words it seemed to be learning from them as they spoke.
Avalon returned reporting she found her friend but she was in big trouble - a group of Abishai had her captive
Avalon distracted the majority of the Abishai while the three companions freed Avalon's friend from their clutches
Waking her up, the group learned her name was May and she seemed very eager to get out of Highcroft - learning Zeb and Eden were from Vad, she offered to help them with Zeb's quest if they could get her passage and a place to stay in Vad
Before leaving Tyr's Gate, the group ran into a blue-haired woman sitting at the bottom of the statue of Tyr. She seemed forlorn and somewhat desperate, staring at the stars from which "Friend" just arrived
She told Eden and Zeb that their love for each other and their compassion would help decide the fate of Vault - she motioned to the metal being off collecting data from the dead bodies of the Abishai, and claimed its nature was a dangerous one, and it was good that they had encountered it
The woman then destroyed the statue of Tyr with seemingly a thought and disappeared.
